In Indonesia, police forces is reputedly claimed as the first in line to test the thrill in driving this Korean sedan.
Starting from Java region all the way up to Sumatra, the presence of the New Hyundai Elantra used by Indonesian police forces has drawn much attention from the society, including Carmall.com. This curiosity is hopefully to be enlightened by our coverage.

Finally the God answered our pleas. Sunday (15/7) Korea Otomotif Indonesia (KOI) community invited to attend the KOI parade and gathering in Bogor, West Java. As a surprise KOI purposely brought the latest Hyundai Elantra which also used by Polresta Bogor.

Of course we couldn't afford to lose this moment. Yes, Briptu Toni whose daily ride is the New Elantra shed some information regarding the car. "Police Department in every cities received one unit of the new Elantra", said Toni amid the preparation to guide the KOI parade.

Looking at its body, this sedan does look extravagant, especially when every curves on each angles contain aerodynamic aesthetics. From what we have obtained so far before it reach the embrace of Polresta Bogor, the car has only two basic colours, white and blue.

"Well, we designed those other stickers ourselves", adds Briptu Kris while at the same time showed us the red police stickers. They aim to create a signature look that represents the Indonesian police force identity with red and blue colors on top of the car's white original colour.

Toni said that the New Elantra body already has an attractive design, so further changes are therefore forfeited. When we cast our eyes down to its wheels, the initial rims and tyres have been replaced with rims from Evolution and wrapped in Accelera tyres. "For the rims and tyres, we could spent almost Rp. 10 million", admits Toni.

As for the interior, these two young cops decided not to change anything as they feel the cabin features are lavish enough for them so there is no need to add more.

PT Hyundai Mobil Indonesia (HMI) as Hyundai's sole distributor explained that the New Hyundai Elantra used by the police forces is actually a direct agreement made between Hyundai Motor Corporation (HMC) in Korea with Indonesian Police Forces. "HMI only asked by HMC to take responsibility in handling the aftersales services only", said Mukiat Sutikno, Vice President Director HMI, when contacted by Carmall.com via email.

Mukiat also stated that those cars are not for free and they are based on tender system. "But we take no parts in this unless we were asked to prepare the spare-parts and after sales services", ends Mukiat.
