This production unit
that has been circulated and manufactured in China is involved in the
recall process due to a problem with its steering system.
About
3 thousand units of BMW will be recalled from the circulation due to a
problem with its steering system. This recall process will commence on
August 15th. At the first phase, BMW China will be recalling 2.712 units of BMW 3-Series and 114 units of the X1 which were manufactured on November 2010 and February 2012.
When for the second phase, BMW Automotive Trading Ltd and BMW Brilliance Automotive (which is a joint venture between BMW group and Brilliance China Automotive Holdings) will recall 195 units of BMW Z4 (manufactured at the end of 2011). Because this imported German roadster apparently have the same problem, steering control system.
In order to avoid unwanted incidents, BMW in their recall process will identify the problem and replace the steering control for those three units. Owners rest assured as the dealer will contact the car's owner and it is of course free of charge.
