Aside winning the best
design award, Porsche 911 Carrera design team also became the best
design team in the Red Dot Design Award 2012.
The design team headed by Michael Mauer has again put the Porsche
name into prominence. One of its icon, the Porsche 911 Carrera succeeded
in taking the Best of The Best award at the 2012 Red Dot Design Award.
The success also took them to become this year's best design team.
Through the latest 911 Carrera, Mauer and his 80-member team performed excellence to maintain Porsche's nearly 50 years of success, resulting in one of its icon being awarded the 2012 Best of The Best title.
It's this high dedication and loyalty that has brought Porsche's design team being chosen as the Design Team of 2012. And by their good work, Mauer and his team succeeded in maintaining and strengthening Porsche's identity across its line-up since 2004.
Porsche design quality has been built on tradition and innovation, as well as sportiness and practicality for everyday drives, while the principals of genuine, functional and timeless have shaped the character of Porsche's design language.
"My team and I are very proud that we won the two most-renowned awards this year. It means that we are pursuing the right design philosophy," said Michael Mauer, Director of Style Porsche.
Prof. D. Peter Zec, the initiator and CEO of Red Dot Design Award, explained that the decision to give the award to Porsche Style is perfectly appropriate with the Porsche 911's distinction over other sports cars. "Quite apart from the 911 model, Porsche has continuously achieved great things. The successful introduction of the new generations of the Boxster and Cayenne as well as the launch of the excellent Panamera are unrivalled product coups," Zec underlines.
